I’m slowly learning that God’s will is in small moments that make up a long journey. His purpose has an overall destination in mind, but we never reach it until we value the present. I’m praying that the Holy Spirit would make this real to me EVERY day. Especially since Whitney and I have a baby on the way!
I don’t want to miss out on ANYTHING God has for me. It’s so easy to get frustrated with the past and obsessed with the future, when all the while God is standing right before us in that moment, LONGING for intimacy!
As we walk out this truth, everything in our life will be edified and transformed. You’ll reach your dream destination when you learn to rest in the moment and let God’s grace overwhelm you.
I’m so grateful that God is patient with me as I learn to simply live towards Him every second of my life. Moment by moment intimacy with God creates long-term fulfillment and success. Long gaps of confusion and fear, are simply the result of us forgetting the great love of God.
I want every moment in my life to be CONSUMED by that perfect love.
Great thoughts, Jack. It reminds me of the time my little brother, about 7 at the time, told us he wanted to pray like the Jewish people did.
We weren’t sure what he meant by that, so he explained: “You know, like Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof, how he would just talk to God while he walked along down the road, or whatever it was he was doing.”
My brother wanted that intimacy where he could just talk to God all day long, whatever he was doing. It’s a great thing for a kid to aspire to, and one we were all challenged by.
I have learned that all we are promised is here and now! We must determine to live in the moment. The only way to make every moment count is to be consumed with the Love of God! He is madly in love with me and you! I’m so thankful that He loves me with an unconditional love!
Paul Daugherty was speaking about the same topic a few weeks ago. It really got me thinking. We tend to get so consumed in thinking about the future and whats to come, but we should worship God where we are now, knowing that what we are currently going through is preparing us for bigger things to come!
